WINTER LACROSSE
We have received many questions concerning the options for Winter Lacrosse. The Ashbee Board would like to answer some of your questions. Ashbee is a spring club and we currently do not sponsor a winter program. In the past 5th thru 8th grade players have participated in different indoor programs.
We would like to provide you information on the options for your consideration. One of the new alternatives is the Trashcan Lacrosse Winter Program ( www.trashcanlacrosse.com ) held at the new Episcopal Academy Fieldhouse and outside turf field. All players will be coached by head EA coach Andy Hayes and his staff. Coach Hayes will also be inviting some very strong guest coaches to compliment his staff. The program is designed for U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15 and will run for eight weeks. We feel that this program will help prepare you for the upcoming spring season. Ashbee along with Conestoga Youth Lacrosse have been given the first opportunity to register players prior to registration being opened up to other youth programs. Ashbee players have till November 17th to register early. Space is limited! Registrations after November 17th may or may not be available.
Another option available is Athletes Advantage (www.athletesadv.com) in Conshohocken for U-13 and U-15 players. Grades 5/6-7/8 Indoor Lax League on turf with TOUCH LINES NO BOARDS 7 v 7 with a 7 game schedule (40 minutes) starting Sunday January 4th through February 22nd. Players can Sign up as a team or individual. Age eligible players may receive an e-mail from a coach looking to enter a team. Registration forms and more information can be found online.
Many other options can be found on our Chapter of US Lacrosse website or the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association ( www.palacrosse.com ). All of the options are opportunities for your player to keep a Lacrosse stick in his hand and continue improving his skills and game.

LETTER FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dear Player:
The Ashbee Lacrosse Club is for Boys in grades 1st through 8th residing in Lower Merion Township. This program has provided thousands of participants the opportunity to play in a competitive yet nurturing structure since its creation in 1974. It is important to note that regardless of one's physical size, athletic ability or even skill level, there have been countless boys and families who have benefited greatly from their Ashbee Lacrosse experience. Every boy is coached to fulfill his own potential while balancing his role within the frame work of the team as a whole. It is known to many people that the introduction of Lacrosse at an early age will often develop into a life long passion for the game while establishing many wonderful friendships along the way.
We encourage you to consider The Ashbee Lacrosse Club for your family and friends. Please visit our website for more information.
Sincerely,
The Ashbee Lacrosse Club Board of Directors

CLINIC/INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM
The Clinic/Instructional Program is for first time players in first and second grade. The goal of the Clinic/Instructional program is to teach the players basic stick skills, the positions, the rules and have a positive athletic experience in a nurturing atmosphere. Any questions/comments contact Brian Vogt deerq@aol.com
"C" Developmental Team:
The C Developmental Team is for fourth graders interested in playing travel lacrosse. All fourth graders are eligible to tryout for the C Team if they wish to do so. The C Team has a more intense practice and game schedule than does the house league. The team practices at least twice per week and has a minimum of one game per week (typically Sundays), with travel required for away games. Consequently there is a higher level of commitment required on the part of the players and their families. Players making the C Team are expected to make lacrosse their primary sport in the spring. As the C Team will carry a maximum roster of 22 players, there will be cuts after tryouts. All players not making the team will play in the House League and are required to attend the house league evaluations. Players that make the C Developmental Team will be charged an additional fee to the travel team registration level.
HOUSE PROGRAM We have a House Program for our 2nd through 4th graders. The players are equally divided based on evaluations. The goal of the House program is to teach the players the basic fundamentals of stick work, the positions, the rules and ensure that the players have a positive experience. Each House League Team has a minimum of two coaches and will play an intramural schedule of 8 to 10 games.
TRAVEL TEAM (5TH THROUGH 8TH) GENERAL PHILOSOPHY: ALL TEAMS PLAY A LEAGUE SCHEDULE IN THE SOUTH EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA YOUTH LACROSSE ASSOCIATION (SEPYLA).

B-1 5TH & 6TH-MOST COMPETITIVE, PLAYING TIME AT COACHES DISCRETION (22 PLAYERS)
A-2 7TH & 8TH- VERY COMPETITIVE, MORE BALANCED PLAYING TIME (25 PLAYERS) B-2 5TH & 6TH- DEVELOPMENT, MORE BALANCED PLAYING TIME (25 PLAYERS) C- 4th GRADE- TRAVEL DEVELOPMENT TEAM BALANCED PLAYING TIME (22 PLAYERS) Ashbee Lacrosse requires that all Travel players where the official ASHBEE Black game shorts for all games.
Please check the web site for exact dates and times for Team evaluations.
Registration is on a first come first serve basis and there will be a waiting list. The Club reserves the right to modify the team configurations including adding or dropping a team due to insufficient and adequate coaching volunteers. Playing time will be affected if an effort is not made to attend and participate in practice. Consideration will be given to bringing players up from the waiting list to replace players that don't adhere to the team rules.
